Descriptive Analysis of Health Screening for COVID-19 at Points of Entry in Pakistan According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines

Introduction: Points of entry (PoE) in Pakistan serve as key conduits for international travel, transport, and trade. Central Health Establishment (CHE) is a stakeholder the implementation International Regulations 2005 (IHR) core capacities at PoE National Action Plan 2020 against COVID-19. A comprehensive screening plan COVID-19 was carried out effectively despite limitations. Methods: descriptive study on CDC guidelines health conducted from February to March 2021. Guidelines are based 11 attributes be implemented; these include legal regulatory bodies detain travelers suspect, isolate, coordinate PoEs, funds screening, well-equipped quarantine facilities, referral care protocols primary secondary capacity building, supply personal protective equipment tools, provision basic facilities isolation areas. Data were collected using both qualitative quantitative methods officers assistants PoEs. The analysis CHE’s information system performed assess management traveler surveillance. Results: Eleven addressed according well implemented by CHE under flagship MNHR&C. Primary 4,088,119 inbound conducted. Secondary led airports travelers, with positivity rate 0.32.
